Karen L. BrandStockholder

Karen L. Brand has been an attorney at Reid and Riege since 1986 with a practice focusing on general business law and employment law. She assists clients with the full variety of legal needs that arise in the course of owning or running a business, from start-up planning to day-to-day operations and compliance issues, purchase and sale transactions and business dissolution and wind-up. Karen assists clients in the preparation of agreements among stockholders, partners and other business owners, and the review and drafting of agreements with third parties such as customers, suppliers, licensees and other business agreements. She also has extensive experience in private equity transactions. 

Karen helps businesses comply with employment laws while managing their workforces.   In this regard, she gives advice and counsel to business management on all aspects of employment, including compliance with federal and state disability and other discrimination laws, family and medical leave laws, wage and hour laws, laws regarding contingent workers and employee classification, employment agreements and agreements protecting employers’ information and business interests, such as confidentiality, non-solicitation and non-competition agreements.
