Our Firm

Commitment to Excellence

Commitment to Excellence

In 1950, John Reid and Jack Riege opened the doors of Reid and Riege at One Lewis Street in Hartford, Connecticut. At the outset, the firm limited its practice to tax and business planning, estate planning and settlement, and retirement planning.

Over 70 years later, having grown substantially in size, the firm remains a strong presence in Hartford and has increased the scope of its offerings to a full array of legal services which have been available for decades. Though the firm may seem different at first glance, it is important to note that we have remained true to our roots and our founders’ standards and values: commitment to our clients’ success, adherence to sound legal and business ethics, and contributions to the community.

Reid and Riege’s top priority is working as a team internally and with our clients to provide high quality professional services and legal solutions designed to meet their business and personal objectives. We have built a reputation based on our values and the high standards of our work that we effectively and efficiently deliver to a diverse range of clients, including publicly traded companies, closely held businesses, financial institutions, nonprofits, health care organizations and individuals.

“I am proud of what the firm has been able to accomplish over the years. Our culture, team approach, and dedication to the community make us a successful firm that is able to serve a wide variety of legal needs. Being proactive enables us to adjust to changes in the environment and helps us control the future of Reid and Riege. To our current clients, thank you for your relationship with the firm. To those we have not yet worked with, we look forward to the opportunity.”

- Thomas R. Kasper, President

Women's Alliance

The mission of the Women’s Alliance of Reid and Riege is two-fold.

First, we support and mentor the women within our firm, knowing that through such actions we can all become more professionally and personally enriched.  Second, we create spaces in which our valued clients and referral sources who are women can network with each other and us, helping us all to establish longstanding relationships of women supporting women. We accomplish the latter through a range of meetings and events, some of which are listed below.
